Since Back Door Slam made their U.S. concert debut at SxSW in
March 2007. The threesome from the U.K.s Isle of Man has
been doing what they love to do bestplaying their high-energy
brand of blues-rock at venues large and small all over America.
Crisscrossing the country many times in the process, they continue
to build a loyal following through touring and appearances on
programs like ABC-TVs Jimmy Kimmel Live, the CBS Early
Show, and National Public Radios World Café. Roll Away,
Back Door Slams debut CD on independent Blix Street Records,
has achieved critical acclaim as well as Top 5 positioning on
Billboard Magazines Blues chart. Roll Away has spawned
two singles, Come Home and Itll All Come
Around, that have earned widespread airplay.
Fronted by singer, songwriter, and guitar prodigy Davy Knowles,
who was dubbed a guitar god in training by the Los
Angeles Times, Back Door Slam takes their name from the Robert
Cray blues classic. Bandmates Adam Jones on bass and drummer
Ross Doyle round out the young trio, who, just barely into their
20s, can look forward to the long and successful road ahead
of them.
Perhaps you saw Back Door Slam on Jimmy Kimmel Live where Davy
Knowles was playing his Blue
Steel Electric LTHBs. Davy also uses Dean Markleys Vintage
Bronze ML on his acoustic, and LT gauge of the Mandolin
Phosphor.
Davy Knowles said this about
his Dean Markley strings:
Whether Im playing Electric, Acoustic, or Mandolin
Dean Markley strings fit the bill perfectly, its an honour
to be on their roster!
