Hedras Ramos Jr. is a 17 years old virtuoso self-taught Guatemalan guitarist. At age of 6 he started with Drum lessons. At the age of 8 he received as a present a small replica of a Les Paul, that’s where his interest for the guitar arose. But it wasn’t until he became 13 that he took the guitar seriously. His growth after that was truly exceptional. The basic tips and guitar lessons from his father, Hedras Ramos, the ample access to amps, guitars, books, videos, CDs in the house, and the familiarity with his father’s recording studio were a great help to get better each day. But the real truth is that he credits God for the gift and talent given to him and the discipline and commitment to the instrument, studying 8+ hours daily after high school.
In October 23rd 2008 in the city of Guatemala, Hedras presented his first album with a private concert to key people from the Media. Also as a guest of honor, Hedras had USA recording drummer and good friend Billy Ashbaugh (Greg Howe, Britney Spears, N’Sync, Pat Benatar, Aaron Carter). All songs on this first album were composed by Hedras when he was 13-14. The album was produced by Hedras himself and co-produced by his father. it is available world wide.
Next came the Holy Gift of Shred (Christmas album), and Insanity of the Atoms is scheduled to be finished in December 2009. Hedras won 2nd place at Guitar Idol 2009 in London, UK. This world-wide competition hosted more than 1200 guitar players from all over the world. It’s worth mentioning that Hedras was the youngest contender at this open competition.
