When guitarist Mark Bryan and singer/guitarist Darius Rucker first pooled their talent with a drummer and bassist to form Hootie & the Blowfish, the original idea was to pick up a little money playing for frat parties in their small South Carolina college town. No one, including the band, would have guessed that by the middle of 1996, the little band with the odd name would have numerous hit singles, sold over 12 million copies of their first album and would be on the verge repeating their astounding success with their second album. Its only fitting that all the bands hit songs were played on Dean Markley Bronze Acoustic and NickelSteel Electric strings, the only guitar strings Darius and Mark ever play. (P.S. There is no Hootie.)
