Prodigiously talented and astonishingly prolific, twenty-five year old Joe Firstman is a storyteller as much as a songwriter. Firstman’s timeless sound belies his young age and is beautifully showcased on his Atlantic Records debut album, The War Of Women. Billboard magazine writes, “Firstman… combines elements of Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Brothers Band, The Black Crowes, and Neil Young in his music… the raw talent shines through.”
With a live show that is both electrifying and intimate, Firstman has shared the stage with some of the great songwriters of our time, including the legendary Willie Nelson, Grammy award winning Sheryl Crow, and superstar folk singer Jewel among others. “The indisputable hit of this concert… his brief, eight-song set earned him a standing ovation-unheard of for a warm-up act,” wrote the NY Post of Firstman’s performance at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall while he was on tour, opening for Sheryl Crow.
Some of Joe’s accomplishments include a musical collaboration with legendary lyricist Bernie Taupin, Elton John’s songwriting partner, producer of “Tin Cups and Tear Drops,” a track that would later be recorded by Willie Nelson.
Though originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Firstman now resides in Los Angeles and is currently working on his highly anticipated, follow-up album.
