In 1989, four teenage friends from York, PA formed a band called Public Affection, and started a chain reaction that would eventually lead them to rock stardom. These 4 friends, Ed Kowalczyk, Chad Taylor, Chad Gracey, and Patrick Dahlheimer, began performing in clubs like CBGBs that eventually landed a record deal with Radioactive Records.
In 1991, the band changed their name to LIVE before releasing their debut album, Mental Jewelry, which was produced by former Talking Heads keyboardist, Jerry Harrison. Three years later they called on Harrison again to produce their second album, Throwing Copper. With hits like Selling the Drama, I Alone, and Lightning Crashes, LIVE propelled into the mainstream spotlight.
Since then LIVE has released a total of 6 full length albums, the latest being Birds of Pray which includes the hit songs, Heaven and Run Away. Theyve performed in sold out venues around the world, and through it all, the band has always remained connected to their fans. Their popularity spans the globe and multiple generations, and this fan support, along with the support of the great people and great strings at Dean Markley, is part of what keeps this Pennsylvania quartet rocking.
Thanks for the years of support Dean Markley Strings!!!
