Miguel Mega played guitar since he was 15, his first album being released in 1992 with his band at the time, Last Joker titled Last Joker. With his band, he performed big venues with the greatest names of the Brazilian heavy metal such as DR. SIN, ANGRA, SEPULTURA, R.D.P., KORZUS, etc.
In Los Angeles in 1995 studying the music business he took some production and recording courses at the Music Box Studios in Hollywood. When he came back to Brazil in ´97, he released his first instrumental CD, simply Miguel Mega.

This entirely self-produced CD presents a fusion of styles such as blues, rock, jazz, funk, and country. In 2000, it was his 3rd CD Coastline where he could express himself in a total musical freedom field. Coastline presents high energy jazz rock fusion with a latin feel, getting him great reviews all over the world
In 2003, he participated in the award winning release by Boosweet Records G-Fire. His fellow artists included award winning contemporary jazz fusion guitarist/producer Vernon Neilly, Morris O`Connor ( Stevie Wonder / Gladys Knight ), musical director for Diana Ross, guitarist Kevin Chokan, and world famous bass player for Ben Harper, Juan Nelson.
In 2005, G-Fire II scored another contemporary jazz award, making himself along with the others a two time consecutive contemporary jazz award winning artist/producer. G-Fire II also achieved Top 10 Billboard charting status, and songs for this project were used by popular shows such as MTV made, and BET Television Jazz Impressions. In 2007, Miguel participated in the release of A Tribute To Stevie Wonder, which included world-renowned all-star international artists.
During Miguel’s very successful tour in Italy in June/July 2009, he played among other venues at the Mediterranean Jazz Festival. His new CD will be released by the end of 2009, called A New Puzzle.
Miguel Mega uses Dean Markley’s Blue Steel and Super V strings; LTHBs on the Strats, and MEDs on his Les Pauls.
Miguel Mega enjoys his relationship with Dean Markley as much as he does with his other world-class partners: I just love Dean Markley strings because I get a superb tone out of my guitars and the intonation is perfect all over the neck. I have no tuning problems at all, and the durability is just impressive. Dean Markley is not just a great company, they just treat artists with respect and we feel like close friends!
