Adopting their name from Marilyn Monroes last movie, The Misfits wound up making punk rock history from what they originally called A twisted dream. Adopting their image and influence from countless horror films, dawning devil lock haircuts, and horror make-up, The Misfits set out to frighten and captivate anyone willing to come to one of their shows.
Founding member and bass player Jerry Only can be attributed to keeping the band kickin ass for 25 years. The Misfits have influenced countless hard rock and punk outfits in the two decades ranging from Metallica, Guns n Roses, Alice Cooper, Pantera, and Kid Rock to Green Day, Rancid, and Blink 182. They now have their own record label dedicated to distributing their records and birthing new punk bands.
Now playing with the lineup of Jerry Only on bass, Marky Ramone on drums, and Dez Cadena on guitar, the Misfits are here to stay and are determined to remind everyone that, of course, everyday is Halloween.
If you are a Misfits fan, you already know that both Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein use sets of Dean Markley strings custom made specifically for them. What you may not nknow is those strings are not made exclusively for the Misfits. If you like their sound, you can buy their stings. Jerry uses Misfits Skullbustersª Bass, while Doyle plays hard with Misfits Skullbustersª Electric.
