The world was first introduced to the harmonious guitar rifts and poetically mumbled lyrics of REM in 1980 in Athens, Georgia. The band signed with the Hib-Tone label and quickly made a lasting impression on college radio. Word spread and soon REM could not be contained to local college radio stations.
The band consists of bassist Mike Mills, drummer Bill Berry, guitarist Peter Buck and of course Michael Stipe. Together the four college drop-outs blended talent and an ever changing musical style to pioneer and reach out to millions of fans with hits such as The One I love, Everybody Hurts, and of course the haunting Losing my Religion.
Despite their rise to fame and monumental talent, the men have remained humble, focused, and still about the music, dedicating themselves to creating the most credible and enjoyable music possible.
REM uses Nickel Steel Bass Med. Lt, Nickel Steel Electric, and Vintage Bronze Med. Lt.
