Rikk Beatty is not happy unless he is pushing the music boundaries of today's music and the limits of his imagination and creative expression. Rikk started playing the guitar at the age of 13. Now at 29 years old and with 4 instrumental albums under his belt with styles ranging from Rock, Jazz, Blues, Latin, Acoustic New Age, and Funk he is no novice to the scene. He continues to reach new artistic heights as proven with his current instrumental release Pointing at the Moon. His style and playing have been compared to Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Al Dimeola.
Rikk just released another new album titled Infinity Within where he does lead vocals and lead guitar. The Rikk Beatty Band just came off of their West Coast tour to support the new instrumental and vocal albums. Rikk will be heading into the studio within the next few months to start recording his new instrumental album Guitar Farm, which will be released in winter 2004.
Rikk uses both Blue Steel Acoustic LT and Blue Steel Electrics LT.
Rikk's comments about Dean Markley's Strings:
I started using Blue Steel strings almost 11 years ago. I had been using Dean Markley strings since I first started playing guitar and at one point I started dabbling in other strings just to see what else was out there. Aside from the fact that most other strings all seemed to share similar tonal qualities that I did not like, I noticed that strings would last about a week and then I would start to break them. When I first tried Blue Steel strings I was amazed at the difference in their tonal qualities AND they lasted twice as long on my instrument without breaking! I have not tried a new brand of strings since then and I will stick with Blue Steels until you stop making them (but please don't!!)
Blue Steel strings give me what I need to have total creative expression and freedom on my instrument. They are the only strings I can count on time and time again to deliver the same long lasting beautiful tone. And like an old friend
They never let me down.
