Ron Foos has been playing music professionally for more than four decades. He was voted Best musician in 1988 (Reno, NV), Best Bass player in 1989 (Reno, NV), and he received the Songwriting award in 1986 (Hollywood, Ca.). These were all Readers' Choice Award tallied by the Reno Gazette Journal.
The number of albums/CD’s, commercials, radio spots, etc. over the years that Ron has recorded is beyond our ability to count. He has appeared on such TV shows as Solid Gold, Nashville tonight, The Late Show, and many European and Canadian TV and radio shows.
Having worked and recorded with such artists as Randy Bachman (BTO fame), Albert Collins, The Beach Boys, Bill Medley (Righteous Bros.) and many more, Ron is now playing his 30th year with Paul Revere & the Raiders.
Paul Revere & the Raiders were inducted into the Northwest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Seattle, Washington, January 1990.
Ron continues to play, write, and record full time, and he strings up all six of his bass guitars ONLY with Dean Markley bass strings. He uses the SR 2000 5-string WL (Will Lee). This bass string has an exposed core.
Ron says:
“I really do find them the best sounding strings I have ever used. They stay bright and can take the road abuse very well. I will not leave the house without Dean Markley strings on my bass!”
