Sarah was born in Hailfax, Nova Scotia and has been on a musical path ever since. After years spent studying guitar, voice, and classical piano, she was discovered by her current, label, Nettwerk Records, who signed the19 year old artist to a contract. Her first album “Touch” went gold in Canada. It wasn’t until the mid 90’s that the rest of the world took notice, with the release of her “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy” album. Five million albums later she continues to grow. A few years back she and her manager test ran the first “Lilith Fair” dates for a few select cities. For the past several years the traveling road show of today’s top women artist have led the summer concert series hands down at the box office. Dates have included fellow Markley artists: Paula Cole, Liz Phair, Tracy Chapman and Natalie Merchant, as well as a host of sidemen with various bands. It continues to grow stronger every year, showcasing and celebrating women artist from around the world.
