Starz formed in 1975 in New York City. The band released four critically acclaimed albums on Capitol Records and had seven Hot 100 Billboard singles, including their National Top 40 hit, Cherry Baby. The band later released “Live In Louisville,” considered to be the best live album ever recorded according to the rock magazine, Kerrang from England.
The Starz CD’s were re-issued in 2006 on Ryko/Warner Bros Records with bonus tracks and new CD booklets.
The band is still touring and released “Extended Versions Live” on Sony/BMG Music in 2007.
Starz was among the first bands to endorse Dean Markley strings back in 1979.
