Wendy Levin

Even though she has a fair way to go before she is 30 years old, Wendy Levin is one of those precious few performers who has developed proficiencies in other professions that are critical to great recording and stage performances.

One such skill Wendy has is creating the song itself. This is a special treat for her audience, because when she is the performer, the audience is hearing the songs with all the feeling and nuance the author intended.

You may remember her as the Association of Songwriters and Lyricists’ semi-finalist in the 1998 lyric contest. That was for “Memory Outlives Yesterday,” published in the anthology On The Road.

Wendy brings another great set of skills to the process of recording her songs. These skills give the listener yet another take on her psyche because Wendy is a Tracking Engineer and a Mix Engineer. This affords her the opportunity to set the sounds juuust-so on the disk.

You can find Wendy headlining club dates around Los Angeles both in her solo acoustic performances and as the Lead Guitarist for Marlo, the psychedelic pop/rock artist. Recently, she has also been Lead Guitarist for Sixteen Pieces of Statue Records, and Lead Guitarist for Xemu Records’ Baby Alive.

And she is so accomplished at her craft, Wendy teaches at the Recording Institute of Technology in Hollywood. She was the first ever to graduate from Musician’s Institute with a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music.

What does an artist, who understands so thoroughly the craft of creating music, use to create her own guitar performances? Her strings of choice:
Electric, Dean Markley Nickel Steel™ Electric Lt .009-.042 and
Acoustic, Dean Markley VintageBronze™ Acoustic Med .013-.058.
