The first annual “Music Player Live” event was held in New York City on October 21-23, 2005. This was a great event, allowing musicians of all kinds to mingle with some of the greatest professional musicians and see all of the latest gear. Attendees were allowed to participate in panel discussions, attend master classes, and enjoy many impromptu music performances by some of the best players in the world.

This venue also included an incredible concert at the Roseland Ballroom, honoring the legendary Les Paul, along with Ron Carter and Jack Bruce. Les Paul himself was the keynote speaker. Performers included, Les Paul (of course!), Larry Carlton, Adrien Bellew, Robben Ford, Doug Winbish, John Mayer, Lisa Loeb, Billy Burnett, and many others. All in all, a fantastic evening!

Dean Markley Strings, Inc. displayed all of its new products, including new gig bags, tuners, and guitar straps. Many loyal Dean Markley customers came by the booth saying how much they love our strings and how long they've been loyal customers.

Peter Drakoulias from the Coastal Group was on hand to manage the Dean Markley booth and speak to all of the visitors that came by. Peter stated, “The best thing was being able to talk to the teenage students from the School of Rock. They were like sponges, absorbing information about strings and the different tones available to them. They were all very grateful that they each got a new set of Dean Markley strings to try out. I know they were as thrilled as I was thirty years ago when I put my first set of Dean Markley strings on my new guitar.”

Many Dean Markley endorsees came to the booth to meet with fans and sign autographed photos. Among others, these included Will Lee, Earl Slick, Getty Leonard from David Bowie, Alan Robert and Joey Z from the group “Life Of Agony,” and Denny and Mary from the Broadway show “Movin' Out.”

A good number of retailers came by and told us how happy they are with the Dean Markley line and how excited they are about all of the new products. Great Show. Great Strings!
