The Pickup
Hi Steve,
I just got the Trilogy fitted last week-Mike, Mag, and Piezo all in one!! I used it for a Gig over the weekendÉ It is AMAZING in every sense of the word in that you have more control over it then the sound guy does!! I was tailoring each performance as need be in the set. (A big bonus on the Mike front: when I require less or more presence for individual tracks of mine that are body Percussion based.)
My previous system was in Stereo and it caused untold sound problems in some venues. The Trilogy has a much bigger sound and it is a self-contained beast in that it is POWERFUL, and it really brings out all the nuances my Guitar had to offer!!
Now I've only just used it on the one Gig and I have loads more lined up. I know that I have not even used it to full potential yet and I love it!! There are sooooo many combinations of Blend on them. And your question of lugging Gear around? Well I've just ditched me whole Rack outfit (save for me Reverd unit); and this went straight into the House PA and we were done in 20 minutes flat!!É It also has a very nice Acoustic quality about it and the Mike is encased in the pickup, so no worries about them flapping type of sounds that I used to get!!
Give it a try mate, just from the one night, it blew me away and I am looking forward to trying out more sound combinations out of it-and mamma, the Pick Up looks pretty!! (Adds to the appearance of me lovely Lowden.)-I can fill you in next week some more if you'd like? I have never been a fan of Piezo's but this one really sounds nice-also the beauty of this pickup is that with all the Blends on it, you can get the sound YOU like as opposed to the sound the pickup is inherit to, if you know what I mean?
Hey man, I used to endorse them Elixir's but I switched over to Alchemy-I get quite aggressive with my playing and these Alchemy's are built to take the painÉ The Elixir's didn't hold out for too long. Have you tried the GoldPhos mate? They give me a much better, fuller sound then Elixir did. BUT that's just me own opinion in relation to the sound of me Guitar, and I'm not suggesting anything else!!É.
Ok's Guys!!-I'm off to grab some serious zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's. Been Mixing me new CD and I'm all wacked now!!
Cheers!!
