The String
Traditionally Flatwounds produce a deep, bassy, somewhat percussive tone—without much high end. Now Dean Markley’s precision wound FlatWound™ Bass strings are smooth sounding with a high end that other flatwound bass strings just don't have.

We achieve this great sound by cross winding the underlying wraps, which creates an improved presence on the strings. Especially the A and E strings, which need it the worst. To finish off these great Flatwounds, the final, outer cover is a highly polished, highly magnetic stainless steel flat wrap.
